Rookery Hall Wedding Venue: A Cheshire Guide
Rookery Hall wedding venue is a Georgian manor house set at the end of a sweeping drive near Nantwich in Cheshire. Built in 1816, it has fine sandstone walls, a fairy-tale tower and thirty-eight acres of grounds. In fact, it has a claim to fame: David and Victoria Beckham got engaged here. Here is why Rookery Hall deserves a place on your shortlist.
A Georgian Manor With a Famous Engagement Story
Rookery Hall was built in 1816 for William Hilton Cooke. Even today, it still carries the hallmarks of its era. Richly toned wood panelling, an expertly crafted staircase and mosaic tiled flooring all speak to its Georgian grandeur. Sandstone walls surround the fairy-tale tower that has become one of the venue’s most recognisable features. So it is easy to see why the Beckhams chose it for their own engagement.
Thirty-Eight Acres to Explore
The house sits within thirty-eight acres of grounds, giving you plenty of room for an outdoor ceremony or portraits. For example, manicured lawns, a fountain garden and mature parkland all give you different backdrops throughout the day. As the light softens in the evening, the grounds take on a completely different atmosphere.
Interiors Full of Character
Inside, Rookery Hall is just as impressive as its grounds. Oak and mahogany fittings, a fine marble fireplace and a beautiful staircase with stained glass windows all give the house real character. As a result, it is a lovely spot for portraits away from the main celebrations.

The reception room at Rookery Hall is built for celebrating in style. Round tables dressed in white linen, a well-stocked sweet cart and a beautifully styled top table all set the tone for the day. Even so, simple touches, like giant LOVE letters, add a bit of fun without taking anything away from the elegance of the room.
