Will and Christina’s Wedding at Solberge Hall
As a Solberge Hall wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing Will and Christina’s incredible day here last weekend. With its elegant interiors and stunning grounds, the venue created a truly perfect backdrop for their celebration.
Solberge Hall: A North Yorkshire Wedding Venue
Solberge Hall is a Grade II listed Georgian country house set within nine private acres near Newby Wiske in North Yorkshire. John Hutton built it in 1824, after buying the land from the cricketer George Osbaldeston. The Hutton family kept the house for around a century, and the inventor Benjamin Talbot bought it next. A multi million pound refurbishment later brought its chandelier lit interiors and rich, moody colour palette to life.
The estate has ancient trees, an oak arbour, a kitchen garden and even a giant chess set scattered across the grounds. Two historic churches sit nearby for couples who want a more traditional ceremony. Combine all of that with a genuinely spectacular reception space, and it is no wonder Solberge Hall has become such a sought after wedding venue.
A Beautiful, Very Windy Day
It was a beautifully sunny day but incredibly windy. In fact, it was so windy that Christina had to remove her veil part way through, before it blew away completely. We made the most of it outdoors, then headed in from the cold to warm up properly.
Warming Up at the Iconic Vinery Bar
Once we had captured some beautiful photos outdoors, we ventured inside to make the most of the venue’s iconic bar. The Vinery at Solberge Hall is a chandelier lit room with a stunning mirrored bar. It made for the perfect spot to relax with a drink and warm back up before the celebrations really got going.
The Dance Floor was incredible
My highlight of the day was, without question, the dance floor. It was in full swing all night, and every guest had such a brilliant time that it deserved its own post. The dance floor was phenomenal. The loveliest group of people carried the whole night with their energy and joy. Ten out of ten for dance moves, enthusiasm and party vibes.
It was such a wonderful day from start to finish. Wishing Will and Christina a lifetime of happiness together, with little Rory too. If Solberge Hall sounds like the venue for you, get in touch with a Solberge Hall wedding photographer to see how I can capture your own day there.
