Olivia & John // A Solara Shores Wedding

Olivia and John’s wedding at Solara Shores was full of laughter and happy tears from start to finish. They chose this brand-new clifftop venue on the Yorkshire coast for its sweeping sea views, and the North Sea did not disappoint. Here is how their day unfolded.

Two Flat Lays

Before the morning got going, we put together two flat lays designed to make the most of the pink tones in Olivia’s bouquet. Wildflowers, her shoes and the invitation suite were laid out against a bold pink backdrop, with a softer blue version alongside for contrast. Both set the tone for a day that mixed romance with a playful, colourful edge.

Getting Ready by the Sea

Olivia and John both got ready in the cabins that run alongside where the ceremony room is. They have gorgeous views across the coast and are lovely spaces for to get ready.

Solara Shores: The First Look

Olivia’s dad couldn’t hold back the tears as he saw her for the first time.
We opted to do this first look outside as the light was wonderful and we had plenty of room to fluff her dress.

Vows at the Cliff Top Chapel

Olivia and John married inside the Aurora barn, with its glass walls open to the fields and sea beyond. Her father walked her down the aisle and John could not keep the smile off his face as she arrived. Their ceremony was warm, personal and at times, very funny, exactly as they had planned it.

Confetti, Laughter and Happy Tears

Outside, guests lined the path for confetti as Olivia and John stepped out as a married couple. It set the tone for the rest of the day; from that point on, the celebrations rarely dropped below full volume. If one phrase summed up their wedding, it would be laughter and happy tears and this was where both first appeared in equal measure.

Solara Shores Real Wedding: Reception and Speeches

Speeches at this Solara Shores real wedding brought the room to tears more than once. Later, the cake was cut beneath the fairy lights of the Hay Barn before the dancing began in earnest.

Sunset Portraits on the Yorkshire Coast

As the evening light softened, Olivia and John slipped away for a handful of portraits across the clifftops. Between the running, the laughing and one very determined kiss mid-gust of wind, these were some of the most joyful photographs of the whole day. The Yorkshire coast did the rest.
