As a Broadoaks Country House wedding photographer, I loved every minute of Lucy and Jared’s day. Broadoaks Country House sits between Windermere and Ambleside, right in the heart of the Lake District. So, the setting gave us a stunning backdrop from morning to night.
Lucy and Jared’s Spring Wedding at Broadoaks Country House
Oh, what a day. Lucy and Jared were married at Broadoaks Country House and it was my first outdoor ceremony of the season, and we could not have asked for better weather. The Lake District put on its very best for them, with clear blue skies rolling out over the fells and not a cloud in sight.
Broadoaks Country House: A Lake District Wedding Venue
Tucked between Windermere and Ambleside, Broadoaks Country House is one of my favourite Lake District wedding venues. Once voted the most romantic hotel in Britain, its seven acres of secluded gardens are threaded through with a babbling beck, with a lovers’ swing beneath a grand old oak and a pretty pagoda that made the perfect backdrop for the day.
The Ceremony on the Lawn
Lucy and Jared said their vows out on the lawn, surrounded by family and friends, with the fells rising up behind them. There’s nothing quite like an outdoor ceremony in the Lake District, and this one was every bit as beautiful as I’d hoped for my first of the season. Cue confetti, happy tears and the biggest smiles.
Golden Hour Portraits
As the sun began to dip, we were gifted the most gorgeous golden hour, so we ventured out into the grounds to make the most of that light for their couples session. Lucy had a real vision for their photos, and it was so much fun to collaborate together to bring it to life.
The Reception
Instead of a first dance, Lucy and Jared kicked off the party with a first shot alongside their guests. This set the tone perfectly for the night ahead. The dancefloor filled quickly. Lucy’s granddad led the way with some of the most epic moves I have ever seen. Soon, everyone else was trying to keep up with him.
