A sweeping driveway leads through manicured parkland to the Manor House itself. There is a real sense of arrival before you even step inside. The estate is entering its tenth year as a wedding venue, having been carefully renovated from its seventeenth-century foundations. That history is still visible in the details, from exposed stonework to the original walled gardens.

Beyond the house, the grounds stretch across three hundred acres of Cheshire countryside. They take in a private lake, a polo pitch and mile after mile of open parkland. Getting Ready at Merrydale Manor
On the morning of the wedding, brides get ready within the estate’s characterful buildings. Exposed beams overhead and plenty of natural light set the scene. A wedding dress hanging from the barn beams makes for one of my favourite shots of the day. It looks even better paired with the rustic timber frame around it. Flatlays of the shoes, flowers and invitation suite come together easily in spaces like this. A mirror moment with the dress on display rounds off the morning perfectly.

The centrepiece of the estate is the Merrydale Suite. This purpose-built function room has views over the courtyard gardens and out towards the lake. Long tables dressed with candles and seasonal flowers fill the room. Every place setting feels considered rather than rushed. Cakes are often displayed on a glass table surrounded by fresh flowers, adding another photogenic moment to the day. As evening arrives, the same room transforms for dancing. The chandelier overhead catches the light long after the sun has gone down.
